Garden Design

Whenever you plan a layout for your garden or backyard, you are engaging in garden design. Some people seem to think this is something complicated and difficult, but it is actually fun and quite simple once you get an idea of what you want. In fact, your design for your garden will probably evolve and change with the rest of the yard over the years. It won’t stay exactly the same for very long.

One of the reasons why gardens change so much is that cycling plants out is a good idea. Plants that come back every year are fine right where they are, but if you are planting a certain type of seed every year, try to not plant it in the same place too many years in a row. This makes for healthier plants, so you should integrate this movement into your garden design.

If you know you want to change up your garden, but you feel stuck on what to do with it, there are plenty of places where you can get some help. If you want to do the project yourself, you can look into the multitude of books and magazines that are all about landscaping and garden design. They will have the latest tips and techniques available.
